Billing Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-12

This policy explains how paid subscriptions to Smart Quote AI are billed, who your invoice is issued by, and what happens when a plan changes, pauses, or cancels. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy.

1. Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Paddle collects your payment, issues your tax invoice, and manages any chargebacks under the Paddle Buyer Terms. ACN 699 263 057 Pty Ltd (ABN 77 699 263 057) remains the provider of the Service itself.

2. Subscription plans

  • Plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, whichever you selected at checkout).
  • The price shown at checkout is the price you pay for that billing period. Taxes are added by Paddle where applicable.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

3. Taxes

Paddle calculates and remits GST, VAT, and sales tax on our behalf based on your billing address. Tax invoices are generated by Paddle and available from your billing portal.

4. Upgrades, downgrades and plan changes

  • Upgrades take effect immediately. Paddle pro-rates the difference for the remainder of the current period.
  • Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Plan limits (users, workspaces, AI usage) may apply after a downgrade takes effect.

5. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, Paddle will retry over the following days and notify you by email. If payment isn't recovered, the subscription moves to a past due state and access to paid features may be limited or suspended until payment succeeds.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from your billing portal or by contacting us. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access to paid features until the end of the current period. See the Refund Policy for the 30-day money-back window.

7. Invoices and receipts

Every successful charge produces a tax invoice from Paddle. You can download historical invoices from the billing portal linked in your account settings.

8. Disputes and chargebacks

If something looks wrong on a charge, please email support@smart-quote.com first — we can usually resolve billing issues faster than a chargeback. Chargebacks raised without prior contact may result in your subscription being suspended pending investigation.

9. Currency and pricing changes

Prices are displayed at checkout in your local currency where supported. We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice by email or in-app; existing periods you have already paid for are not affected.

10. Contact

Billing questions: support@smart-quote.com. Payment method or invoice issues that require Paddle directly are handled via the buyer portal linked from your Paddle receipt.
